What is Freedom for me ?

 

“To find yourself, think for yourself” – Socrates

The freedom for me is to act according to my capabilities, equal opportunities to improve my freedom according to myself and my capabilities.

I draw the inspiration from the Amartya sen’s work “Development as Freedom”, where I can see freedom as means and end for the development according to my capabilities, the freedom definition for I am that “it is meant for the development of my capabilities and improves my living standards according to my capabilities, without deprivation of the capabilities”

I feel freedom can’t be absolute, it might have some restrictions, one freedom cannot destroy the other the freedom to development or freedom to improve capabilities.

From a metaphoric perspective, freedom for me is that as Socrates says freedom to think freely, freedom to think without fear, freedom to think of myself and improve me without any restrictions.

Being from an underprivileged and oppressed community, freedom for me is being freedom from slavery chains, freedom from superstitions, orthodox thinking, freedom from hegemony and domination, freedom from the narrow mindedness, freedom for me is to freedom from caste violence, freedom from illogical development, freedom from Sanskritization, freedom from bad politics, freedom for me is freedom from Exploitation by the capitalist.

Freedom for me is that attain equal opportunities in education, health, employment, development etc. finally for freedom is to live freely, taking my own decisions and creating my own future

  Recently, I have watched a Tamil A language action movie called “Karnan” is directed by Mari Selvaraj. We can drawn a lot of incidents similar to the movie incidents in Indian history .the the story has explained the culture of the Tamil tribes /Indian tribes through the various animals, deities and symbols like faceless figures which represent the tribes pray the faceless and shapeless gods. Empowering women is a prerequisite for creating a good nation. When women are empowered, society with stability is assured.
